Nišville Jazz Festival

About this event

World-class jazz inside the walls of Roman Niš Fortress — the biggest jazz festival in southeastern Europe.

Nišville has been running since 1995 in the unique space of Niš Fortress, built on the foundations of the Roman camp Naissus. Multiple stages are arranged between the ramparts and the Bali-beg Mosque — an atmosphere where classical jazz meets Balkan, fusion and world-music sounds.

The festival regularly hosts major names from the global jazz scene — from blues to bebop to experimental electronic jazz. The programme runs over four evenings with sets often stretching deep into the night, and the main stage and workshops are open to all ages.

Niš is connected to Belgrade by a fast bus link (3h), and the surrounding area offers thermal baths and one of the most beautiful Roman villas at Mediana — an excellent reason for an extended weekend.
