A hand-hewn log cabin deep inside Tara National Park, above the Drina canyon.
An 80 m² log cabin in a hamlet above Mitrovac village, in the heart of Tara National Park. Built in 2018 with traditional technique — hand-hewn Serbian spruce, stone foundation, shingle roof — with full modern comfort.
Two bedrooms, living area with stone hearth, kitchen, bathroom. Large terrace with forest view, BBQ area, and small garden. Wi-Fi is available but slow — a perfect spot for a digital detox. Parking at the door. Dogs welcome.

Things to do nearby
Banjska Stena — the viewpoint over the Drina meander, with a photo that's travelled the world — is a 25-minute drive. Mitrovac, Crno Jezero (Black Lake), and the pine forest for hiking are right outside the door. Cycling on Tara is excellent (250 km of marked trails).
The Drina House — a tiny shack on a rock in the middle of the river — is 30 min away, plus rafting on the Drina from Perućac. Rača monastery and Bajina Bašta town are 45 min. Drvengrad-Mećavnik and the Šargan-8 are an hour. The Drina canyon can also be seen from the Perućac hydroelectric dam.
Food & dining
Tara is a region of lamb, cheese, and honey. The nearest restaurant is Konak Tarska Kuća (5 min drive) — order spit-roasted lamb a day ahead. Restoran Omorika in Mitrovac serves Tara polenta with cheese, poppy-seed strudel with plum jam, and game (deer, wild boar) from local hunting.
In the Drina valley at Bajina Bašta, Restoran Splav Drina is famous for fresh river pikeperch and carp. Tara honey from St. John's wort and linden is an excellent buy — beekeepers in Mitrovac happily show off their hives.

Odlično za bekstvo iz grada
Tiho, mirno, čist vazduh. Brvnara je očuvana i čista, kuhinja opremljena. Dobili smo i domaću rakiju i pekmez od šljiva pri dolasku. Dođite zbog Drine i Crnog jezera.

Solid mountain cabin
Comfortable wooden cabin with a working fireplace. Walks straight from the door into the Tara forest. The drive to the Drina viewpoint at Banjska Stena takes 25 minutes — not to be missed.

Natura e silenzio
Cabina molto carina nel bosco. Il silenzio della notte è incredibile. Il nostro host ci ha preparato pljeskavica fatta in casa. Ottima base per visitare il canyon della Drina.

Tara kakvu treba doživeti
Brvnara je usred šume, jutarnji vazduh je nestvaran. Porodica Janković je topla i gostoljubiva, a roštilj na terasi je pravi specijalitet. Mitrovac i Banjska stena su blizu.
